Mr. Smail is a 5th Degree Black Belt who started his Taekwondo journey in 1994. Continuing his training through high school and college, Mr. Smail became one of the main teachers at his instructor’s martial art school, earned a number of state championship titles, and eventually opened a Taekwondo club in his hometown of Manchester, MI. He became a Certified Instructor in 2005. After college, he moved to Minnesota and together with his wife, Master Bushey, they opened Legacy American Martial Arts in 2009. Mr. Smail has earned a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and spent time competing in amateur Mixed Martial Arts.
